Faculty

Dr. Ande Bhuvaneswari Devi

Dr. Ande Bhuvaneswari Devi

Water Resources Engineering & Earth System Science

Dr. Bhuvaneswari Devi is a specialist in Water Resources Engineering and Earth System Science, with expertise in hydrogeology, geospatial technologies, and environmental change. Her research focuses on groundwater recharge, urban hydrology, and the impacts of land-use change and climate variability on aquifer systems, addressing critical issues of water security.

She holds a PhD from IIT Guwahati, an MTech in Water Resources Engineering from NIT Warangal, and a BTech in Civil Engineering from JNTU Anantapur. Her doctoral research, titled "Modelling of Groundwater Recharge in the Context of Temporal Changes in Land Use and Land Cover (LULC)", examined how rapid urbanization and climate change influence groundwater recharge in tropical coastal aquifers, particularly in regions such as Cochin, Kerala. By integrating GIS and hydrological modelling, her work provides predictive insights for sustainable groundwater management. Her research has been published in reputed international journals and presented at national and international conferences.

Dr. Bhuvaneswari has teaching and research experience at premier institutions, including NIT Goa (Adhoc Assistant Professor), IIT (ISM) Dhanbad (Post-Doctoral Fellow), and IIT Guwahati (Research Scholar), along with service as Adhoc Faculty at G. Pulla Reddy Engineering College. She has taught a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in civil and water resources engineering. Her teaching approach emphasizes practical problem-solving through GIS (ArcGIS/QGIS), hydrological models (SWAT, GMS), remote sensing, and analytical tools such as MATLAB and R.

Her current interests include contaminant transport modelling in urban aquifers, machine-learning-based groundwater level forecasting under extreme climate scenarios, and the development of GIS-based decision support systems for smart-city and municipal water management.

Dr. Amaranadha Reddy Manchuri

Dr. Amaranadha Reddy Manchuri, is an academic with 24 years of experience as a professor, HOD and researcher, having worked in India, Malaysia, and South Korea. He holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering from the University Malaysia Sarawak, and is an alumnus of JNTU, Hyderabad, India.

Dr. Reddy is a distinguished scholar specializing in sociocultural systems informed by models from Bharatiya civilization, like Ekatma Manav Darshan (Integral Humanism). He developed the 'Regional & Union Development Resilience Analytics' (RUDRA) an integrated framework for societal well-being, uniquely integrating intellectual rigor with philosophical insight.

Dr. Reddy's work provides valuable perspectives on leadership, governance, and public policy, with a specialized focus on natural resources, internal security, and resilient systems. A core aspect of his approach is integrating traditional wisdom to promote sustainable development. He is actively engaged in research covering materials science, mathematical modeling, and sociocultural systems. As of November 2025, his professional achievements include 7 global recognitions, 69 research publications, and involvement in 10 research projects.

A highly-qualified medical professional, Dr. Reddy is a graduate of Osmania Medical College with specialized training in Aviation Medicine, Sports Medicine, and Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) warfare.

Career Highlights:
  • Military & Operations: Served 13 years in the Army Medical Corps, demonstrating leadership in operational and staff roles. This included leading medical teams in successful counterinsurgency operations, planning medical preparedness for major national events like the Republic Day Parade, and successfully managing COVID-19 operations as the nodal officer.
  • Public Health & Humanitarian Work: Drove numerous public health initiatives, inspiring professionals to organize numerous health camps in Hyderabad and surrounding areas, significantly improving quality of life. Following voluntary retirement, he joined the Swami Vivekanand Health Mission Society (SVHMS) and was crucial in stabilizing 15 hospitals, including three in the high-altitude Chardham area. He also organized comprehensive outreach medical camps in remote Himalayan villages and worked to improve livelihoods for distant villagers.
  • Strategic Healthcare Leadership: Demonstrated expertise in public health administration and strategic healthcare planning as the Chief Medical Officer for NetraKumbh 2025, the world's largest eye camp. This initiative delivered high-quality eye care to millions, earned high-level recognition from the Hon'ble Prime Minister, and established a scalable and sustainable healthcare framework for extensive medical outreach.
  • UGC Nominee on Executive Council: Dr. Reddy is a nominee of the University Grants Commission (UGC), Govt. of India, on the Executive Council of Santosh Deemed University, Ghaziabad, U.P. This position signifies his involvement in the governance and policy-making of the university as a representative of a key national regulatory body for higher education.
  • Founder and Director of VIRAT Foundation: Dr. Reddy is the Founder and Director of the VIRAT Integral Research and Development Foundation (VIRAT), a Section 8, Not-for-Profit Company. VIRAT operates as an independent, non-partisan Think Tank focused on conducting policy-oriented research. The organization's research is dedicated to promoting the well-being of humanity, with a focus on both India and the global community.
  • Trustee for Charitable Trusts: Dr. Reddy serves as a Trustee for APRSG Charitable Trust and also he is a governing council member of the alumni board of APRS Gyarampally, Andhra Pradesh. This role is centered on “nurturing the grassroots young generation for future endeavors,” indicating his dedication to youth development and mentorship at a foundational level.

M.Tech (Water Resources and Environmental Technology)

N.V.S. Sri Rekha Panchagnula is a dedicated Water Resources Engineer with an MTech in Water Resources & Environmental Technology from JNTUH and a graduate in civil engineering, passionate about leveraging advanced computational techniques to solve real-world water challenges. Her project for the dissertation thesis is in developing sophisticated modeling solutions using Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithms for reservoir operations and creating Python-based groundwater simulation models that provide actionable insights for water resource management.

Her technical toolkit includes proficiency in industry-standard software such as EPANET for hydraulic modeling, ArcGIS for geospatial analysis, CROPWAT for irrigation planning, and ANSYS for engineering simulations. Her experience in teaching at Vasavi college of engineering as assistant lecturer made her enthusiastic and broadened her perspective and lead to innovative cross-domain research. She has developed strong programming capabilities in Python, C++, and C, enabling her to create custom analytical tools for complex water resource problems. Her field experience encompasses advanced surveying techniques using Total Station and Theodolite, complemented by laboratory analysis and statistical modeling expertise. Additionally, she gained teaching experience by assisting with courses and mentoring undergraduate students, which develops communication skills and deepens her own understanding of fundamental concepts.

Throughout her education, she has successfully tackled diverse water management challenges, from optimizing multipurpose reservoir operations for enhanced irrigation and hydropower efficiency to designing urban groundwater recharge strategies for metropolitan areas. Her practical experience includes collaborating with municipal corporations and state authorities on critical infrastructure projects, such as redesigning drainage systems for flood management in Ongole Municipal Corporation and contributing to state-level water budget planning for Mizoram.

What drives her is the opportunity to translate complex technical analysis into tangible solutions that address contemporary water scarcity, flood management, and sustainable resource allocation challenges. She believes in combining cutting-edge computational techniques with practical engineering approaches, always focusing on delivering measurable improvements in water system efficiency and infrastructure resilience. Her goal is to continue contributing to innovative water resource solutions that make a meaningful impact on communities and sustainable development.
